The 2 time Olympic gold medalist who has made over 160 appearances for the United States national team, Hope Solo is considered to be one of the top goal-keepers in the world and one of the most important players in the American national side but not everything in the life of Hope Solo is going picture perfect as the 33 year old shot-stopper was suspended for 30 days due to a number of incidents which have been occurring recently involving the experienced goal-keeper.
The husband of Hope Solo is Jerramy Stevens and the player of the Seattle Seahawks was arrested after having been found driving under the influence and Hope Solo was in the car at that time but she wasn’t arrested but according to reports and statements from the police, Solo was reacting aggressively and doing unnecessary things in the passenger seat to the officials.
In June of 2014, Hope Solo was also charged with 2 ccounts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault after being believed that she hit her half-sister and nephew but the judge dismissed those charges due to a lack of cooperation from witnesses.
Nonetheless, even if those charges were dismissed it is clear that something is going on with Hope Solo and the head coach of the U.S Women’s National, Jill Ellis announced the suspension of the American goal-keeper with a statement that read: “During our current National Team camp, Hope made a poor decision that has resulted in a negative impact on U.S. Soccer and her teammates. We feel at this time it is best for her to step away from the team.”
This suspension did not allow Hope Solo to perform in matches during the month of February and according to Solo, she has taken the time to go to a therapist and her anger issues as well as other things that have been emerging and affecting the player are now getting worked out.
