ARSENAL WOMENS COACH EXPECTS TOUGH GAME

Arsenal Women boss Joe Montemurro has revealed that his team expects a tough test in their round of 16 clash against Slavia Prague in the Women’s Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday night.

According to Montemurro, Slavia Prague is a good team in form and would prove to be a unique challenge for the Gunners. He believes that the best tactic for the game is for the girls to defend have quick transition quickly with counters.

Arsenal will be looking to return back to winning ways after the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Women’s Super League.

Montemurro believes that the disappointment will be a tonic to make the girls bounce back and ready to win. He believes that the Champions League match represents a good opportunity to secure a morale-boosting victory.

Arsenal have been greeted with good news in the past few days with Defender Louise Quinn and midfielder KatrineVeje passed fit to feature in the match. Both players had missed a couple of games but will be a major boost for the club.

Montemurro urges caution that the players will only play depending on the situation of the game. This can be interpreted that they would only feature if the team is under the cosh or in a disadvantage.

He also believes that the girls have to come away with something from the first leg to make the second leg easier.

Slavia Prague are one of the best teams in Europe and will pose a dangerous threat to the English giants. However, Arsenal should have enough quality to defeat their hosts and take a good result back to Meadow Park for the return leg. Arsenal female team is one of the few sports teams in history to have completed the quadruple winning the League, Cups, and Champions League.
