The 4th spot of the Premier League is being tightly contested between Arsenal and Everton. The club that manages on securing the spot will give them a chance to play against the best clubs that Europe has to offer as they will be playing in the Champions League for the upcoming season.
Arsenal are currently 1 point ahead of Everton but Roberto Martinez insisted in saying that the race is not over and his squad still has a chance of getting into the top tier league of Europe.
“I don’t think Arsenal will get full points from now until the end of the season,” the Everton manager told the World Cup nederland spanje odds website. “So one point and a better goal difference for us means we are still very much relying on what we do. The table looks like fourth place is out of our hands but I believe it is still in our hands and will rest on the amount of points we get until the end of the season’’.
“We will give everything we’ve got to get as many points between now and the end of the season. It is a disappointment, but it is still a unique opportunity. I am encouraged we can turn the corner if we win on Sunday.”
This season has been a moderately superior one to their previous campaign as Everton only managed on getting the 6th spot of the Premier League but this time around Roberto Martinez is within grabbing distance from getting into the Champions League.
Everton’s 2-0 triumph against Manchester United a few days ago allowed the side of Roberto Martinez to keep up the pressure with Arsenal but at the same time it came at a cost for Everton as Kevin Mirallas picked up an injury that will be leaving him out of action for the remainder of the season. Martinez is hopeful that the recent injury will not hurt his chances of securing the Champions League spot.
