Frappart is regarded as one of the best referees in the history of women’s football and this would be a massive game for her. She will be expected to be the first of many to ref the men’s game as women’s football continues to grow.
in the referee team there will be two more women Frappart will be accompanied in the final between Liverpool and Chelsea by a team composed mainly of women, including French assistants Manuela Nicolosi and the Irish Michelle O’Neal, who were also in the final of the Women’s World Cup.
It will be one more step towards equality in football, something which France is a pioneer, since it has been one of the countries that have most promoted women’s football and its league, women’s D1, is one of the best in Europe.
French side Olympique Lyon women’s team has dominated the European stage, winning the last three women’s Champions League. Frappart history making event is a great thing for women’s football
