  1. Yes and as rugger(Rugby football from where both association and american football originated) was nothing more than just a nick name that never survived in continental Europe or the rest of the world! It was, is and always will be known as Football! There is no such thing as US Soccer team, it’s US Football(National) team or even as some call it in the US MNT!

  2. Soccer is a word coined by Charles Brown of Offord England in the 1880’s. It’s short for Association Football. It makes me laugh when smartasses like yourself who love the sport, don’t even know that. I know more about your sport than you do. LOL

  3. “U.S. Soccer Team”??? What? WTF? FOOTBALL no Soccer!!! There is no such thing in the world as Soccer!!!

  4. im not USA fan… but if i were them i would get hispanics on the team… bribe them with loads of cash and go to latin countries and bribe them over there and trust me the national team will get better….

  5. what about the younger up and coming new players like brek shea, juan agudelo, mikkel diskerud, josh gatt, kelyn rowe, andrew wenger, timothy chandler just to name a few, we have alot of new talent coming in and they’ve look promising

  6. no we dont. donovan dempsey howard r the only real significant players. they have each established themsselves against other good players. altidore is streaky and only score s because has a cannon. bradley is ok but hes a not a good player. jones i guess is pretty good. bocanegras slow and old. onyewu might have 2-3 years left of good stuff when he can become good but hes gettin old. so that leaves like 4. so to say that we dont that many good players is an accurte statement.

  7. They have some decent players like Donovan and Bocanegra, the problem rely on the low level of competitive of soccer in the US, and since most american players are playing in the US this affect them too. In big part is because is not part of their culture, they like their ”own” sports like American football, Baseball, Ice Hockey and Basketball, this doesn’t mean they can’t be good at it, but, at least for now, not on the same level as Spain, Germany or England.

  8. Can’t wait to see Germany and US meet where Klinsmann will be face to face with his former assistant.

  9. Well, we will see that. The Americans don’t really have that many good players.
