Durham Ladies endured more disappointment after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Doncaster Rovers Belles.
The disappointment largely stems from the fact that the team has managed only one goal in the last four matches. In fact, in the opening eight matches of the season, they have scored only 10 league goals. This poor run of form is threatening to keep them near the foot of theWomen’s Super League Two table. Manager Lee Sanders, though, remains confident that the players will be able to regain their confidence in the coming weeks.
Despite this poor run of form,Sanders has tried to look at the positives and one of them is the number of chances that the team has been creating. It is the efficiency of converting those chances that has taken a beating in the last five matches. After having scored nine goals from the first four matches, one would have thought thatSanders will have no trouble in getting his team near the top of the table. However, the form has nosedived since the last international break andSanders has admitted to a lot of inconsistencies with regard to form.
