No but you could actually do the same thing Australia did when they joind the asian F.A..
Joining the “South America” could be a way – The F.A.`s there actually hate their huge schedule of matches they have to play when they want to qualify for the World Cup so if they would bring in Mexico and the US they maybe could split the whole thing in two smaller pieces – Right now south american teams have to play almost 20 matches to qualify for the World Cup.
Would you suggest we play in Europe?????
Competition is everything – As long as you are playing in CONCACAF you wont improve…
i take it back…these guys actually know what they are saying
why the fuk am i listening to an american(who is prolly fat) talk about soccer tactics lol
Barca plays the evolved total football… to be honest it has nothing to do with size, its about how they train and he mentality. wen they wen the ball its 3 pass out of pressure and then if they lose the ball get it back wit in 2 pass, im 18 and on a club level ive been playing in a total football system for 9 years and im very physical yet i am pretty decent skill wise and my first touch is great, its just the mentality
the way Barcelona plays isint the way u have to play but it is one of the best ways to play if not the best .in north america soccer is taught to kick and run.. my team is is in first place undefetead and we play alot like bar
I tuned into FSC…they were showing ” England classics “…that’s how pathetic we are. We’re watching class English NT matches…LOL.
Why not a classic Argentine match? Or a German,Brazilian, even Italian match??? They’re all more successful then the overrated/lack of sill English…
Altidore has three league goals, in three years.
He’s a flop….
soooo true,
well to me jozy altidore skills fall in comparison to a foward like messi, robinho, neymar, david villa, and all those famous forwards. Id rather go up against altidore than any of those players
His touch and finishing are inconsistent, I think, but I think that he’s at his best running at defenders and making good runs in behind the backline. Combine that with his size, strength, and speed, and he’s a really difficult player to deal with. His dribbling is very good when he does get his first touch right( ask Jamie Carragher)
dude he does. skill wise he sucks
dude finally someone says something! I have a one in a million coach in the whole u.s. who teaches my team and i spanish and brazilian styles of play. Now all the other coaches i have are idiots to me because they try to teach me all that other bull
Did you even listen to the show? CLAUDIO REYNA said he would like to the see US Soccer and youth begin to play more like Barcelona. Whole point of the show. Hopefully, I don’t have to explain who Reyna is and his role in US Soccer and the USSF.
And who ever said USA was trying to play like Barcelona?!
I find it stupid how these fuckers are saying Jozy Altidore has a bad first touch. SERIOUSLY?!
I wouldn’t disagree with a single thing you said. Instead of following the German or Dutch model, as we should have, that incorporates skill, physicality and speed, we have opted for the brute force approach too often. You are not disagreeing AT ALL with the hosts who have often said the very same thing you say in your comments. I agree Jozy’s touch is also an issue, but I have seen some improvements recently.
No one said to “discard” the style completely. They said we need to improve our first touch and passing. But to TRY to play like Barca means we will turn into Barca-light: ie Mexico. To not see this, is to have a totally unrealistic view of where US Soccer is right now and what our strengths are.
No. They mention several times that we need to incorporate Barcelona training methods to improve our first touch. They said TWICE that we should shoot for playing more like the Germans by improving our first touch but maintaining our physical presence (not play like England). Again, no offense, but I’m not sure you’re paying attention to the program tava82. No one can play like Barca, not even Spain. Listen. Quit bringing your bias before you LISTEN.
These guys are certainly not stupid. How are they looking at it the wrong way, since you seem to have the answer? Since one of them has been covering US Soccer for 20 years, and the other is involved in developing youth players in the US, I think I’ll listen to their point of view over your childish remarks. If you have an opinion genius, then voice it.
Wow these guys are stupid. You guys are looking at it the wrong way.
Jozy will NEVER develop a first touch..he’s too clumsy..
ghana is more skilled…….
